Hare Krishna!
Dear friends, another week has flown by and it’s almost the weekend again! However, before the weekend, it’s time for the Friday Night Gita!
Come along this Friday 19th May, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. We will begin with Kirtan (meditational mantra music), followed by a seminar on the Bhagavad Gita, then more kirtan and finish with a delicious vegetarian meal!
We are about to embark on a thematic study of the Bhagavad Gita, from the ‘ABC’s to the XYZ’s’. There are 16 main themes in the Gita and the 1st theme we will be exploring is ‘The Soul and Transmigration’. There are 13 different verses which we will be looking at in relation to this 1st theme.
This week we will be exploring chapter 2, text 12 and the seminar will be given by myself (Caitanya Vallabha das).
In this verse, Krishna is stressing the individuality of the soul. We were individuals in the past, we are individuals now and we will retain our individuality in the future. We are individuals in our conditioned state and in our liberated state also. This dismisses the misconception that when we are liberated we merge and lose our individual existence. The individual soul has an eternal relationship with the Supreme Soul, Krishna and this human form of life is especially meant for reviving that eternal loving relationship. When we are properly situated in that consciousness, we will experience complete satisfaction.
Come along and join this ‘Soul talk’…
Unparalleled knowledge, mantra mediation, good company, great food and good vibes…Friday Night Gita!
